MiG-15 flight: ride a Legend!

World of jet fighters is exciting and amazing and opens a lot of interesting facts and opportunities. For example, MiG-29 jet fighter can get you to the Stratosphere which is almost 18 kilometers from the Earth ground.

The history of jet fighters is long and vast, but nevertheless exciting. While MiG-29 is quite modern fighter, there were true legends, which emergence revolted aviation world. One of such is MiG-15 –Soviet (Russian) jet fighter.

MiG-15 was developed in 1947 and was first successful serial jet fighter in the USSR. On 1949 MiG-15 was put on the product line. In 1950 Soviet authorities made a decision to interfere into the Korean war. The hostilities on the Korean peninsula became a first proving ground for the newly developed jet fighter.

MiG-15 showed impressive results in the Korean war and quickly became an uneasy challenge for American pilots with their Sabres jet fighters. As all aviation regiments started to receive new jet fighters in 1950-ies, cadets, and even skilled pilots needed to master MiG-15. The Mikoyan bureau began to develop special training modifications for MiG-15, which had to have a seat for a second pilot. This modification was named MiG-15 UTI (“Uchebno trenirovochny istrebtel”) which stands for “A  jet trainer” or, according to the NATO classification, “The Midget”.

MiG-15 jet fighter had so successful design, that is was later replaced by Mig-17 which was basically a modernized version of Mig-15.

More than 15 thousand MiG 15s were produced in USSR and its satellites. Although the fighter was removed from a product line a very long time ago, some countries like Northern Korea are still using it as an actual military aircraft.

If you want to ride a legendary aircraft, you don’t have to move to Northern Korea and hijack a military MiG-15!

Corporate Zero Gravity event was finished

Today, on the 22nd of November a mixed group of tourists successfully finished their flight in Zero Gravity!

Zero Gravityflight took place in Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center – one of the world most unique “universities” for cosmonauts and astronauts. The flight program included 2 days. During the first day flight participants went through a medical check-up and theoretical instruction. On the second day tourists enjoyed their flight. The whole flight took 1 hour and 20 minutes. During the flight onboard the laboratory plane IL-76 MDK 10 Zero Gravity modes were imitated, 28 seconds each. IL-76 MDK laboratory plane is Russian aircraft designed especially for cosmonaut trainings.

Mixed group of flight tourirsts, as usual, was multinational: tourists from Russia, China and Switzerland come to GCTC to participate in the wonderful adventure organized by our company! However this time we also hosted a corporate event for the famous Chinese company. We arranged an exclusive program for them, including space trainings on such simulators as Vykhod-2, Souyz, Don-Soyuz, Tsf-7 Centrifuge, “Space food” and practice in a “Sokol” space suit.

All tourists were a little bit tired but happy! Despite some unpleasant weather conditions everything went smooth and fine!

The flight was organized by the “Country of Space Tourism” travel agency – leading aviation and space tour operator in Russia. Space tourism is growing its in popularity among ordinary toursists! Our other space adventures: Mig-29 flights, Baikonur tours,

Please join our adventures - as other tourists did - and get new amazing emotions and impressions!

Can you be an astronaut or cosmonaut? Prove it in Space Trainings!

Space has always been attracting us as something borderless and mysterious. While gazing at the stars one can’t help but admire its beauty. While being kids, many of us dreamt to be astronauts or cosmonauts.
But for most of us space travel is impossible – due to the health or the fact that we chose less romantic profession. But is there anything we can do now to perform – at least for a short moment – our child dreams? And the answer is – yes!

Although astronaut or cosmonaut trainings is classified, now ordinary travelers have opportunity to peak their training. In Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (GCTC) which is a training facility for ISS crews in Russia, tourists can take part in real cosmonaut practices! These are the simulators that you can try in GCTC:

Vykhod-2. The space environment differs drastically from the Earth’s. This simulator allows to train an exit to the open space. You will also learn how to operate your “Orlan-TMA” space suit.

Soyuz space vessel simulator. This is a real spaceship, almost identical to one which delivers astronauts and cosmonauts to International Space Station. Souyz training simulator imitate vessel’s moving, docking, undocking, landing and communication with the space station.

Don-Soyuz simulator. The simulator’s aim is to practice emergency exit from the ISS and to practice flight control.

TSf-7 Centrifuge simulator will test your organismon endurance. During the space travel all objects and especially people suffer overloads from low to high. The centrifuge will train your vestibular apparatus. During the training, a group of skilled medics will monitor your condition and cease training immediately in you feel dizzy.

Training in a Sokol space suit. Sokol is a Russian space suit designed for space station crews. The space suit also protects cosmonaut or astronaut’s lives in case of depressurization of the Soyuz vessel.

Space food simulator. Cooking and eating in conditions of zero gravity could be a real problem for a person not trained for this. Space food simulator will teach you how to heat and stuff you food. And, of course, you will get an opportunity to taste space food!

If you are interested in Space Trainings please send us an email on jet@tour-space.com with a request.

Spend your Space holidays in Baikonur spaceport

If you are interested in cosmonautics and aerospace history and dreamed to do some non-traditional tour in this December, you will have an excellent opportunity to visit Baikonur spaceport from the 13th to 18th of December 2017.

Now the spaceport is the only one place from which cosmonauts and astronauts make it to the International Space Station (ISS). Onboard the “Souyz-SM” rocket launcher they go up to the ISS to replenish members of the orbital international crew, that stays on duty all the time. There are 6 crew members that stay on duty onboard the ISS: two Russian cosmonauts, two American astronauts and two astronauts from other countries.

Not only manned space launches are conducted now from the Baikonur spaceport. Supplies, materials and equipment for the ISS are delivered from the Progress and Proton rockets. The launching pad of the latter is located on the Baikonur spaceport.

During the tour you will visit “Proton” and “Souyz-SM” launching sites, which were for authorized personnel only just a several years ago. One of them is a so called “Gagarin launch” – the very launching site from which “Vostok” space vessel with Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, set off to the orbit.

You also might be interested in a tour over the unique museum on the territory of the Baikonur spaceport, which highlights the history of Russian space exploration programs from 1950-ies to the present day. On the backyard of the museum you will see special exhibits such as Buran space vessel. Buran is an orbital space vessel, which primal aim was to put satellites into the orbit, to conduct experiments and test new types of weapons. It was developed in 1984 as some sort of “Soviet respond to the USS shuttle program. But at the same time it has crucial differences. First of all, Buran space vessel was equipped with an automated landing system and could do a reserve lap before landing.

But what’s most important – you will be able to see one of the world’s most tremendous events – launch of the “Souyz-MS” space rocket with 55-th ISS crew onboard, which is scheduled on 17th of December!

Baikonur tour could be interested not only to fans of cosmonautics. If you are tired of ”traditional” and ordinary seaside touristic tours, Baikonur tour could be a cool distraction from an office life.

If you are interested in the tour, please send us a request on jet@tour-space.com.

Experience real Zero Gravity just like a real cosmonaut!

Cosmonaut profession is probably the most romantic as much as dangerous and difficult. Becoming a cosmonaut or astronaut is not that easy – it takes years to master new skills and information and to meet requirements. In September we wrote about a unique place which astronauts and cosmonauts pass their trainings to be ready to proceed to the ISS - Star City, which could be called a “University for cosmonauts”.

During a training course which can last up to several years a candidate has to practice certain drills. One of such is a Zero Gravity flight – an obligatory element of cosmonaut training. During the first stage of a drill candidates get used to weightlessness, learn how to behave themselves in a complete absence of weight, how to enter and leave a state of Zero Gravity without harm to their body. On the second stage they learn to perform some basic moves and operations in weightlessness and to test equipment.

If you ever dreamt to become a cosmonaut or astronaut, you now have unique opportunity to join Zero Gravity flight as it is available not only for successful candidates but also to ordinary tourists! You may wonder where, apart from the space itself, one can train like a real cosmonaut? The answer will amaze you: these drills are conducted on Earth, in the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training center in Star City, which is not far from Moscow. This place is the only one in Russia, where you can participate in real cosmonaut training in Zero Gravity.

The second question you may wonder is “How is this possible?”. The answer may also surprise you because of its simplicity. Weightlessness is simulated onboard a Russian laboratory plane IL-76 MDK, designed in 1988 especially for drills in Zero Gravity. The IL-76 MDK takes off, climbs to a “regular” altitude of 6,5 kilometers then starts to rise from 6,5 to 9,5 kilometers. When the aircraft reaches this altitude, it immediately begins to descend down, back to 6,5 kilometers. At the moment when a plane is about to come close to the 9,5 altitude and some time after it began its descend, Zero Gravity mode turns on aboard IL-76 plane.

Participants of the Zero G flight spend from 25 to 28 seconds in a complete weightlessness. During the whole flight which lasts for 1,5 hours, overall time when Zero Gravity mode is on estimates almost 5 minutes.

During the flight you can “test” weightlessness however you want: walk or stand still on the ceiling, spin around, fly all through the salon of the Il-76 plane or do the thing: spill a water while in Zero Gravity and try to drink it! An IL-76 aircraft is covered with a special soft material, so you won’t get hurt during your flight. You can check how others enjoyed their Zero G flight.

Our closest flight is scheduled on 21-22nd of November. To book a Zero Gravity flight, please contact us via email: jet@tour-space.com or adventure@tour-space.com.

The Star City: a university for cosmonauts

“How to become a cosmonaut?” – this request is very popular in Google search site. But still, you can hardly find a decent answer in the Internet space. During the tour to the Star City where Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (GCTC) is located, you will learn how to become a cosmonaut and join the space program!

Now the only country that delivers space crews to the International Space station (ISS) is Russia, Cosmonauts and astronauts should go through a special training course in GCTC, located 25 kilometers from Moscow. The cosmonaut (astronaut) training is a very long and complicated process. It usually takes from 8 to 10 years to raise a fully educated and skilled specialist which is able to deal with space equipment and go to the Earth orbit. A decade ago only military pilot, medic or space engineer could apply a request for the space program. Now the requirement are not that strict, and almost everyone with a higher education connected with engineering, aviation and medicine can form an apply and forward it to the GCTC.

During the tour you will see actual training equipment, simulators and drill programs. The simulators in the GCTC are all unique: they are in fact full scale space vessels that are now floating to around the Earth attached to the ISS. Simulators and an equipment compared to the real one is identical. It can simulate both the “routine” flying and docking process and all kinds of emergency situation: wobbling, hardware malfunctions, connection problems, and even the fire!

If you are very much into a space field and you plan to travel via Russia, this trip is a “100% must” thing that you should do while you are in Moscow. To book a tour please send us a request to our email: jet@tour-space.com, containing a date of your desired tour and an amount of attenders. Please remember that you should form your request at leat 45 days before the tour date!

Star City tour could be only an introducing step into the cosmonautics field. Don’t miss our special tours and adventures, like Real Cosmonaut Training, Zero G Gravity flight and a Trip to Baikonur cosmodrome!

Visiting an incredible manned spacecraft launch

On the 13th of September at 3:25 PM a slender shining rocket with a fancy spire on the top soared up in the night sky. Its mighty engines digested tons of fuels in just few dozen seconds, leaving a colorful trail behind the rocket. The trail was so bright that it lighted up an area kilometers far from the launching pad. It lasted only for several seconds while the rocket was still visible high in the sky. A few moments later the giant rocket turned into a small spark and within a couple of minutes one could not distinguish it from plentiful stars studding the Kazakhstan sky. The humanity became one more step closer to the space age.

This was the tiniest episode of the whole Baikonur trip that is arranged by our company. Baikonur is by today the biggest spaceport located in the northwest of Kazakhstan – ex-Soviet republic declared it independence in 1990. It was built amidst the vast and plain prairie spread out in the northern Kazakhstan by the beginning of May 1957. The spaceport was built within 9 months.

Now the Baikonur spaceport is also an only place from where international astronauts and Russian cosmonauts reach the International Space Station. But is not only because of this Baikonur became so popular: tourists all over the world gather there to see manned spaceship launches. Baikonur spaceport (cosmodrome in Russian) is the place in the world where ordinary tourists can see manned and cargo spaceship launch, see real launching pads, visit once secret bunkers and control rooms, learn a lot of information about the space exploration.

Even if you are not new to the cosmonautics field, during our tour you will learn a lot of unique facts and interesting stories. For example, you will learn that “Orlan” spacesuit as well as spaceship’s armchairs are crafted individually for every cosmonaut and astronaut. You will see a transportation and verticalization of the manned Souyz rocket. You will be able to take photos and even have a brief talk with a nowadays heroes – reserve space crew for the ISS!

The next launch is scheduled on 17th of December – hurry up and contact us to get places within a group!

A tour to a spacecraft launch

Somewhere in Kazakhstan among the almost deserted and unwelcoming land one of the largest spaceports spread out on many miles across. And not only it, but a whole town was founded on a land, previously not inhabited. Yes, you are right: we are talking about Baikonur! Some time ago we already posted some a story about Baikonur spaceport, claiming that a tour there could become one of the most unforgettable tours you ever had.

Manned launches happen not so often – only several times a year, and most of them are usually scheduled on summer time. Although, a space rocket launch has always been a very stressful process for all involved staff, this time everything went safe and clear. On 26th of July installation of a Russian spacecraft “Souyz-MC-05” was carried out just as planned. Tourists who booked our Baikonur tour accompanied its transportation to a processing facility then they visited “Proton” and Saturn Launching facilities, visit launching site num. 1, from which Yuri Gagarin, a First Man in Space, began his space journey! They had a unique tour to International Space school, walk through a memorable Alley of the Cosmonauts, planted by Russian/Soviet cosmonauts and astronauts from all over the world. And finally, they had a unique opportunity to see off 52nd international crew before their departure to ISS!

At 18:41 on 28th of July a Russian spaceship “Souyz-MC-05” successfully launched from a Baikonur spaceport. The crew of the spaceship supplemented a current crew of the International Space Station – USA astronauts Peggy Wilson and Jack Fisher and a Russian cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin. This time a rocket carrier delivered Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli, NASA astronaut Randolph Bresnik and Russian cosmonaut Sergey Ryazanskiy to an ISS. They are the prime crew of the 53rd expedition. Nespoli, Bresnik and Ryzanskiy are not new to the space: for Nespoli it is this 3rd flight, while Bresnik and Ryaznskiy have their 2nd visit to ISS.

If you didn't join this trip, do not be upset! The next manned launch is scheduled on 13th of September. Do not miss your chance to see spacecraft launch by yourself!

Mig-29 flights is 100% legal!

You probably might think that one cannot have a flight on a real fighter such as legendary “lightning” of Russian aviation – Mig29. That is totally wrong today. You can enjoy a flight on a real Mig even if you are not a military pilot and have zero flight experience!

MiG flight for tourists are performed absolutely legal, according to the Decree of the Russian government from 23rd of May 2005. As was mentioned in the Decree, not only Russian citizens can fly on Mig fighters, but also foreigners. The only one place in the world from where you are able to have a flight on a fighter is “Sokol” aircraft plant, located in Nizhny Novgorod.

It has been more than 10 years that we organize MiG flights for tourists all over the world. Safety is not only our top priority, but also a priority for “Sokol”plant – one of the oldest aircraft plants in Russia. Since 1925 only highly professional employees work there, and it is thanks to them, that the plant gained its respect among other enterprises of the aircraft industry.

It is, of course, neither fair nor wrong to state that our flights are 100% safe – there is always an insignificant chance of uptoward result of the flight. We organized more than 200 Mig-29 flights, and not a single one was ended due to the emergency situation, because of which a pilot had to cease a flight.

Experienced technical staff of Sokol plant scrutinize a fighter before each flight. Our pilots are honored with several thousands of flight hours experience. Whims of nature – rain, wind, snowfall won’t affect or cancel the flight. MiG-29 is all-weather 3-rd generation fighter constructed to perform its task any time of year.

MAKS 2017: one of the main events of 2017

The Confederacy cup is over, but Moscow still remain one of the most visited places in Russia. And although the weather is not so welcoming, there are at least two reasons why thousands of foreign tourists does not haste to leave Russian capital: high season and MAKS 2017.

MAKS 2017 is an international Aviation and Space airshow, which usually take place at Zhukovsky airfield, located 40 kilometers far from Moscow. First MAKS (stands for: International and Aviation Show in Russian) was first held in 1993. The primal aim of MAKS airshow is to demonstrate latest Russian technologies and products connected with air and space. Nowadays MAKS is one of the biggest airshows and aircraft exhibitions in Europe and the biggest in Eastern Europe.

This year the airshow takes place in 6 days – from 18th of July to 23rd of July. On 18th of July the airshow will be opened only for government members and foreign official delegations.

MAKS is not only a spectacular show, but also a main event for those who are interested in buying Russian high technologies and investing in it. From19th and 20th of July the airshow will be available only for business and VIP guests.

But MAKS could be interesting not only to entrepreneurs, but also to ordinary tourists. One of the main features of the airshow is the performance of aerobatic teams from all over the world. From 21st of July to 23rd of July everyone is able to enjoy the show.

Majority of foreign aerobatic teams pilot training or sport aircraft, while Russian participants perform their flight on real military aircrafts. Thus the central event of the whole airshow is an aerobatic flight program of Russian teams such as “Strizhi” (“The Swifts”) and “Russkie Vityazi” (“The Russian Knights”). “Strizhi” is a world-famous aerobatic group consisted of MiG-29 (“Fulcrum-C”, according to the NATO codification) – real military fighter jets, which agility and speed, strengthened by an incredible skill of pilots, allow to demonstrate various and complicated aerobatic maneuvers, such as “barrel”, “tail slide”, “hammerhead” and others. It is even able to rise to the altitude of 16-17 kilometers above the ground!

For those truly interested in aviation and space MAKS 2017 will be an undoubted “must see” event. It is also a great reason to visit Russia, if you haven’t done it yet. The airshow could be interesting not only for aviation lovers, but also for everyone loving high technologies, spectacle and speed!

We offer 6-day MAKS tour and 4-day MAKS tour, which includes not only attendance of this incredible airshow for 2 or 3 days, but also sightseeing tour over Moscow, Monino museum tour and a lot more!

Contact us and book now while we still have available reservations!

To see Earth from 17 kilometers altitude

Is it possible to see an Earth from 17 kilometers altitude? Regular airliners are unable to fly on such altitudes. Only meteorological aerostats are durable enough to get that high. However, they are entirely not suitable for a manned flight. Even if they are reassembled to contain a human tourist who’s willing to fly to the higher layers of Earth atmosphere (which are called the Stratosphere), there still is a risk that he’ll freeze out. The temperature in Stratosphere does not rise above -56,5 Celsius degrees.

Seems that the conclusion is obvious – only a manned spacecraft is able to get that high. However, it is not exactly so: you can get to the Stratosphere even by a fighter. Yes, by a real fighter MiG-29, which brethren now guard Russian state borders!

We offer you a unique opportunity to see amazing views of landscapes spreading far down below. You will enjoy mysterious blackness of space, not going out of Earth boundaries!

And there is no need to pass a special pilot training course and obtain iron health is not necessary too. Almost everyone from 18 years old can have a flight. The main health restrictions are: hypertension, barotraumas, surgical operations on heart, brain and spine.

In addition to the Stratosphere flight aerobatics and low-altitude pass are also included in the program. If you are a true extreme-lower, if you want to experience something way new and different or, on the contrary, prefer calm flight, we will take into account your tastes and elaborate a program especially for you!

You will probably want to recall your memories about a flight, and to take photos and shoot video of an adventure of your whole life. But unfortunately, photo and video shooting (even by a smartphone) is strictly prohibited. As one of additional options we can provide you with a professional photo and video shooting, footage from GoPro cameras, fixed on a helmet and also making it into a full movie!

MiG-29 flights could become an ideal present for those of your friends, who are into an aviation, space and stars! You can buy a gift certificate and present it on their birthdays or other significant days.

To present a dream – isn’t it an ideal gift?\

The most popular MiG-29 flight program

For years the most popular MiG-29 flight program has been “Edge of Space” &Aerobatic flight in a MiG-29. The program is often booked not only by Russian, but also by foreign tourists. The main feature of this program is that you can have a thrilling trip to a Stratosphere which is an upper layer of the Earth atmosphere on an altitude of 11-50 kilometers. Regular civil airliners are unable to fly on such a height and there is no thick stream of clouds. If one looks up, one can see a darkness of space behind a rarefied air. On such an altitude tourists could see fascinating landscapes of Earth and even its curvature

During the flight you, while technically staying on Earth, feel like you’re almost bail in space. If you have always been dreaming to be a cosmonaut or a military pilot, then MiG 29 flight could perform your most desired dreams of your whole life! Especially when health requirements for our tourists are not that strict as for real military pilots.

After a Stratosphere trip the flight program is not over! The fighter descends to a “regular” altitude (several kilometers) and then performs aerobatics maneuvers such as: “Aerobatic Loop”, “Tailslide”, ”Immelman turn”, “Combat Turn” and others. Aerobatic program will be elaborated especially for a client, his desires and health condition.

To capture an amazing view from Mig29 cockpit and also your emotions during the flight, we can offer you Professional Photos and Videо of your entire trip and flight itself! Additional helmet camera could also be an additional option you would like to book since any recording equipment (even smartphones) is prohibited during your flight trip. Filming and making a movie out of the shot footage (briefing, flight equipment and helmet fitting) are included in the price of these additional options!

Book your flight adventure now, while there are available dates!

What are the health requirements for MiG-29 flights?

Health requirements are one of the most frequent asking questions from our tourists. The question is reasonable: our MiG 29 is a real air fighter piloted by a 1st class pilots, who have thousands of hours as their flight experience. One might think, that a tourist should be as tough as a pilot, as he is to endure multiple overloads.

But please be sure: no special requirements are needed! Every person who is 18 years old, with weight less than 110 kilos and height smaller than 2,05 meters could enjoy a flight! You don’t have to worry about your age either: there is in fact no ultmost age to which Mig29 flights are allowed. Some time ago some of our clients almost 80 years old successfully finished their flights!

Probably the only health requirements that actually matters are undergone surgeons on health, brain, spine, barotraumas, hypertension (pressure more than 200). Special medical report is not needed for Mig flights. Before the flight you will undergo a mandatory medical examination and be accepted for the flight.

In case if you worry you might feel sick during the flight, you can inform your pilot before the flight. He will pick an optimal set of aerobatic maneuveres, that will personally satisfy you.

During the flight you will have a stable communication link with your pilot. In case if you feel some distress, the pilot will stabilize the fighter and lower the G loads. Oxygen coming from a breath mask will also help to avoid discomfort.

Reserve and book MiG-29 flights now, because later flight dates could be unavailable!

How can one book a MiG-29 flight?

One of the coolest and extreme adventures of this summer is a flight on MiG-29 – legendary fighter which is known and recognizable worldwide just as Ak-47 and T-34 tank. If you have decided to book a flight, but don’t know how - here is a simple action plan of how to do it:

1. You have to choose a flight program you would like to experience. We offer three programs:

- First program is called “Subsonic Aerobatic Flight in MiG-29”. The program includes supersonic flight with a performance of aerobatic maneuvers such as “Aerobatic Loop”, “Tailslide”, ”Immelman turn”, “Combat Turn” and others. The length of a program is 25 minutes.

- Second is called “Supersonic Aerobatic Flight in MiG-29”. It includes  a supersonic flight (with a speed 2100 kilometers per hour!) with multiple aerobatic maneuvers. The pilot will discuss flight maneuvers with you before taking a flight. The length of a flight is 40 minutes.

- Third program is called "Edge of Space" Flight & Aerobatics in MiG-29”. It is consisted of two parts: during the first part you will rise up to the altitude of 18 kilometers right in the Stratosphere. There you will enjoy fascinating views of Earth curvature, clouds, skies, bewitching darkness of the Space and blazing Sun! After it, you will descend down to a “regular” height, and the fighter will perform aerobatic maneuvers. The program lasts for 40 minutes as well.

2. After you have chosen your program you have to choose carefully your flight date. Please remember, that our MiG-29’s take off from an airfield of the “Sokol” aircraft plant. You need a special clearance allowing you to enter the plant, which is a state-owned enterprise. The clearances arrangements (included in prices of a flight) took nearly 60-65 days.

3. Finally, to complete making a reservation for your MiG-29 flight we will need your scanned passport and filled in questionnaire. Please contact us via and we will send you a questionnaire.

That is it! Remember, that once you decided to book a flight, inform us ASAP – your desired date could be already reserved by another tourist!
