Its was first time held in 1993 and created to promote Russian civil and military aviation. Initially MAKS – 2017 was just an international forum where representatives of world’s business and industrial elites interested in the latest Russian air and space inventions could make deals. But now it’s open for tourists and is deservedly one of the most popular events both for Russian and foreign tourists.

On MAKS 2017 visitors not only can see and even touch prototypes of the latest Russian military and civil jets (such as modernized MiG-29, which is still considered one of the most formidable jetfighters), military anti-air vehicles, and various piloting equipment.
